Lorraine Kelly has provided an update on her health after undergoing keyhole surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes. The TV presenter took to Instagram to thank the hospital staff for their care and shared a photo with them.
“Huge thanks to these kind, caring, gorgeous professionals who took care of me at @heatherwoodhospital – back home now and following doctors' orders to rest up,” she wrote.
She also expressed gratitude toward her surgeon, Mr. Ahmed Rafaat, for his support and reassurance during the process.
A Step Toward Prevention
Earlier, Lorraine had shared that she needed the procedure after experiencing ongoing health issues.
In a video from her hospital bed, she explained, “I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out. It’s purely preventative.”
Lorraine reassured her followers that the surgery was minimally invasive, as it would be performed using keyhole surgery. “It’s going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible, and I’m being very well looked after. And I’ll obviously see you really soon, and I’m going to be totally fine,” she added.

Support From Fans and Friends
While Lorraine has not shared the specific diagnosis that led to the surgery, she has received an outpouring of support from her fans and celebrity friends. Sports presenter Gaby Roslin commented, “Get well soon my darling. Big love ❤️,” while Emma Willis and Amy Dowden also shared their well wishes.
Lorraine was also photographed in the hospital wearing a T-shirt bearing a quote from her late friend Dame Deborah James, a renowned bowel cancer campaigner who passed away in 2022. The shirt read, “Take risks, love deeply, and always have hope,” a sentiment that Lorraine holds dear.
Continuing to Inspire Through Her Journey
Lorraine’s update sheds light on the importance of preventative health measures and the emotional and physical support that comes with undergoing surgery. With her usual positivity, Lorraine continues to inspire others as she navigates this personal health journey.
