WeightWatchers has announced the upcoming launch of a comprehensive program designed to support women through perimenopause, menopause, and post menopause.

The initiative follows the company’s completed financial reorganisation and is part of a broader transformation that includes expanding its clinical capabilities and leadership team.

Addressing a Long-Overlooked Health Need

The new menopause-focused program will combine personalised nutrition and behavioural tools with professional healthcare, coaching, and community-based support systems. WeightWatchers states that the goal is to meet the “distinct metabolic health needs” of women in this phase of life – a stage that has long been side-lined by the medical industry.

“This is a pivotal moment for WeightWatchers,” said CEO Tara Comonte. “With renewed financial strength, an expanded leadership team, and the addition of Dr. Kim Boyd to lead clinical strategy and program innovation, we’re accelerating our transformation.”

Leadership and Clinical Expertise at the Helm

Dr. Kim Boyd has been appointed Chief Medical Officer to lead the company’s clinical strategy. With a background in metabolic and women’s health, Dr. Boyd brings experience from positions at One Medical, Calibrate, Galileo, and Nurx.

She emphasised the importance of a comprehensive approach: “We’re expanding [WeightWatchers’] legacy by combining the best tools of modern medicine, like GLP-1s, with science-backed lifestyle change and the power of community.”

The company highlighted that its existing programs have already delivered sustained weight loss among menopausal women, and this new initiative will build on that success with added clinical depth.

Strategic Growth and Expert Appointments

WeightWatchers has also bolstered its leadership by appointing Uta Knablein as Chief Product Officer and designating Mike Mason, former President of Eli Lilly’s Diabetes and Obesity division, as a new member of the board.

“As medical treatments like GLP-1s become more widely used, the need for trusted, comprehensive care models that combine medication with lasting lifestyle change has never been greater,” said Mason.

On the Horizon

"In a landscape dominated by noise, quick fixes, and conflicting advice, WeightWatchers continues to lead as the most trusted, science-backed platform, proven to drive better results and lasting impact." says Tara Comonte.

Following its successful relisting on Nasdaq as WW, the company is positioning its menopause initiative as the first in a series of integrated women’s health offerings.

Leveraging over 60 years dedicated to weight management, WeightWatchers aims to close a crucial care gap in women’s health while continuing to evolve its model for the modern medical landscape.
