Women-Led Fertility Startup Lushi Aims to Transform the IVF Experience

Lushi, a groundbreaking women-led fertility startup, is set to revolutionise the IVF and conception experience for women across the United States. Launching in December 2024, Lushi’s mission is to provide a more personalised, supportive, and accessible approach to fertility treatment, addressing the growing need for tailored solutions in an often impersonal healthcare system.

Addressing the Fertility Crisis

Fertility struggles are a reality for millions of women in the U.S., yet the healthcare system—often dominated by outdated practices and a male-centric approach—fails to adequately meet their needs. Lushi is responding to this gap by offering services that are specifically designed with women in mind, creating a more humane and empowering journey for those facing fertility challenges.

“We believe every woman should have the option to build a family when they want to,” says Lushi CEO and Founder Jessica Schaefer, a former Point72 alum. “The hoops women have to jump through to have a child are not only burdensome but dehumanising. Lushi is here to solve that problem by making fertility treatments more humane and easier.”

Innovative Services for Every Stage of the Fertility Journey

Starting December 10, 2024, Lushi offers a suite of services aimed at making the fertility process less daunting and more accessible. These include personalised treatments, clinic services, and wellness platforms, all designed to meet the unique needs of women undergoing fertility treatments. One of the standout offerings is My Fertility Plan, a 12-week personalised guide that includes a nutrition plan, step-by-step instructions for egg freezing, and a post-treatment weight loss plan.

Women in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, and Boston will also benefit from Lushi’s at-home injection specialists, who will administer fertility shots and provide remote monitoring to support patients throughout their treatment. This at-home service brings convenience, comfort, and accessibility to an otherwise stressful process.

Expanding Services in 2025

Lushi's vision for expanding its impact in the fertility space goes beyond just medical treatments. In 2025, the company plans to introduce several new offerings that focus on holistic wellness and mental health, areas often neglected during the fertility process.

  • Fertility Wellness Pop-Up Spas: These spaces will provide women with a calming environment, featuring on-site injections, fertility-optimising mocktails, and yoga sessions designed to reduce stress and promote overall well-being.

  • Flagship Injection Bar: A dedicated space for women to receive fertility injections in a comfortable, convenient, and supportive environment, taking the pressure off traditional clinics and allowing women more flexibility in their treatment plans.

  • Mental Health Support: Recognising the emotional toll that fertility treatments can take, Lushi will integrate mental health services into its offerings, providing counselling and therapy options to support women through the mental and emotional challenges of their fertility journey.

A Woman-Centred Approach

Lushi’s founder, Jessica Schaefer, understands firsthand the challenges that come with navigating the fertility process, which makes the company’s approach even more personal and impactful. By addressing the unique physical, emotional, and psychological needs of women, Lushi is not just offering fertility treatments—it's offering a more empathetic, comprehensive approach to family building.

“Women deserve better than the outdated and often impersonal fertility treatments that are currently available,” Schaefer says. “With Lushi, we’re changing that by offering a service that is not only effective but also deeply compassionate, designed to help women feel empowered and supported at every step of their fertility journey.”

As Lushi continues to grow, the startup is poised to lead the charge in transforming the way women experience fertility treatments—making the process easier, more humane, and more supportive. For women facing infertility, Lushi offers not just solutions but a sense of community and empowerment in what can often feel like a lonely and overwhelming experience.
